Every instructor deserves support.
Train as a driving instructor with a mentor who knows your name, a community that picks up the phone, and development that carries on long after you qualify. We're not the cheapest and we're not the loudest — we're the ones still there in year three.
Let's have an honest conversation.
Tell us a bit about you and we'll come back within one working day — with our free Trainee Driving Instructor Guide and a straight answer about whether this is right for you.
- No hard sell, no pressure, no chasing calls
- An honest view on whether ADI training fits your situation
- An invite to sit in on a weekly Zoom session as our guest
Anyone can sell you a course.
Far fewer will stay.
The qualification is the easy part to buy. What decides whether you're still doing this — and enjoying it — in three years is who's standing next to you.
You're never on your own
From your first hour to your hundredth pupil, there's a named person who knows your situation. Isolation is the thing that ends most instructing careers. It won't be the thing that ends yours.
Training that doesn't stop
Qualification is the start line, not the finish. Ongoing CPD, Standards Check preparation, lesson observations and access to Inspire — because good instructors keep getting better.
A career built around your life
School run done before lessons start. Fridays off if you want them. You set the diary, the rate and the pace — this is your business, and we help you run it properly.
Six things, and all of them are people-shaped.
Not a login and a folder of PDFs. This is what joining Support means, in plain terms.
Your own mentor
Not a call centre, not a rota — one named, experienced ADI who knows you, your driving, your nerves and your goals. They sit in on your sessions, they answer the phone, and they're still there long after your certificate arrives. Weekly check-ins by text, call or Zoom, and a monthly face-to-face within an hour's drive of you.
The training
Grade A trainers delivering Part 1, 2 and 3 preparation built around client-centred learning — not rote test-passing. Real teaching practice from early on rather than endless theory. Local route knowledge, examiner expectations, diary management and professional conduct all covered.
The support
Support doesn't stop at qualification — that's the point of the name. Standards Check preparation, lesson observations and structured feedback, quarterly goal setting, business and self-employment guidance, and someone to call on the day a lesson goes wrong. Most providers vanish once you've paid. We don't.
The Zoom sessions
Weekly live drop-in sessions with the whole community. Bring a problem, share a win, or just listen. It's where trainees and qualified ADIs sit in the same room and swap what actually works. Relaxed, open, and included — no extra cost, no attendance register.
Access to Inspire
Inspire Instructor Training is our CPD membership platform — a growing library of training, resources, lesson plans and development material built specifically for driving instructors. You get access as part of training with Support, so your development is running from day one rather than starting after you qualify.
The community
The most common thing qualified ADIs say is how isolating the job can be. Ours isn't. Peer observation, group learning, podcasts, collaborative CPD, and a network of instructors who genuinely want each other to do well. You'll know people's names — and they'll know yours.
One person. Your corner. The whole way.
Mentorship at Support isn't a training module you complete and tick off. It's having someone who has your back — who knows the pupils you're struggling with, remembers what you said last month, and tells you the truth when you need it. You get the same mentor throughout your training, and they don't hand you over the day you qualify.
If the fit isn't right, we'll change it. No awkward conversation, no fuss — the relationship matters more than the rota.
Every instructor receives
- Weekly check-ins by text, call or Zoom — consistent support and accountability.
- A monthly face-to-face meeting, within an hour's drive of you.
- Lesson observations with structured, honest feedback.
- Bi-annual training on local routes, examiner expectations and diary management.
- Annual Standards Check preparation, included as part of your ongoing support.
- Weekly drop-in sessions so you stay connected to the community.
The room where instructors actually get better.
Every week we open a Zoom room. Trainees and qualified ADIs sit in it together and work through real problems — a pupil who's stuck, a Standards Check that's looming, a diary that's got out of hand. Nobody performs. Everybody contributes.
Alongside that, you get access to Inspire Instructor Training — our CPD membership platform, with a growing library of training, resources and lesson material built specifically for driving instructors. Peer observation, group learning, podcasts and collaborative CPD events run throughout the year.
Room to grow
- Quarterly goal setting — Structured reviews to track progress, refocus your goals and plan what's next — professionally and personally.
- A route to becoming a mentor — If you're passionate about helping others, there's a clear, supported pathway from ADI to Support mentor.
- Wider CPD connections — Fleet, academia, Blue Light, RoSPA and more — we'll help you grow in the directions that matter to you.
Pick the pace that suits your life.
Same mentor, same community, same standards on every route — the only difference is how much time you buy up front.
20 Hour Starter Block
- 20 hours to get you moving — ideal if you want to start without committing to a full course upfront.
- Same mentor, same standards, same community as every other route.
- Top up in further blocks at £51/hr whenever you need more time in the car.
- Most trainees need more than 20 hours to reach Part 3 — this is a starting point, not a shortcut.
- Full access to weekly Zoom sessions and the Support community from day one.
40 Hour Package
- 40 hours of structured, mentor-led training at a pace that fits your life.
- The amount of time most people genuinely need to be ready for Part 3.
- 1:1 with the same dedicated mentor from your first hour to your last.
- Evenings and weekends available to work around your job or family.
- Part 1, 2 and 3 preparation — plus the support that carries on after you qualify.
60 Hour Package
- 60 hours for anyone who wants generous in-car practice and no clock-watching.
- Best value per hour — the most mentor time for the least cost per hour.
- Suits career changers who want to walk into Part 3 genuinely prepared.
- The same mentor the whole way through, start to finish.
- Deeper coaching development, not just test preparation.
Additional hours can be added to any package at your package rate. Most trainees need around 40 hours to be ready for Part 3 — we'd rather say that plainly than sell you a number that sounds better.
What could you earn?
We're not going to promise you a figure. Move the sliders and work it out for yourself — these are the rates working ADIs actually charge in 2026.
Indicative figures only, based on average UK ADI hourly rates in 2026. Actual earnings depend entirely on your location, hours, lesson rate and overheads. This is a calculator, not a promise — your income is yours to build, and we'll help you build it.
Real reviews from qualified instructors.
“I was lucky enough to be trained by Phillip on the lead up to my ADI Part 3. Phillip made me see instructing in a whole new way — friendly, inspiring and very supportive throughout. He has a wealth of industry knowledge and I would highly recommend him as a trainer.”
“After 20 years as a serving Police Officer I felt a change of career was needed. Through Phil's wealth of knowledge and experience I passed all three assessments first time and have been qualified for nearly two years. His passion for driver training is second to none.”
“After not working out with another trainer, Phil was recommended to me. He sat in on my lessons watching me teach and helped whenever I needed it. Phil made me the instructor I am today — I would not be one if it wasn't for him.”
No buried small print.
No. That's the whole reason we're called Support. Your mentor stays with you, the weekly Zoom sessions carry on, Standards Check preparation is part of your ongoing support, and you're part of the community for as long as you want to be. Plenty of providers are excellent right up until your card clears. We'd rather be judged on year three than week three.
One named, experienced ADI — the same person from your first hour to your last, and beyond. We match you on location and on fit, and if the relationship isn't working we'll change it, no awkwardness. Mentorship here isn't a training module; it's someone in your corner.
Live drop-ins, open to trainees and qualified instructors together. People bring real problems from real lessons — a pupil who's stuck, a diary that's a mess, nerves before a Standards Check — and we work through them as a group. Come every week or come when you need to. There's no cost and no attendance register.
Our CPD membership platform for driving instructors — training, resources, lesson plans and development material in one place, built by instructors for instructors. You get access as part of training with Support, so you're developing from day one rather than waiting until after you qualify.
Most people need around 40. Some need fewer, some need more — it depends on your driving, your teaching instinct and how much time you can commit between sessions. We'd rather tell you that honestly upfront than sell you a number that sounds good. The 20-hour block exists so you can start without over-committing, and extend as you go.
Typically 4–6 months to full qualification, including DVSA test waits. Once you've passed Part 2 you can apply for a trainee licence and start charging for lessons while you finish Part 3, so many trainees are earning within 8–12 weeks.
That's genuinely down to you — your rate, your diary, your area. We've put the calculator on this page so you can work it out for yourself with real 2026 rates rather than take our word for it. What we'll say is this: most of our instructors work the hours they choose, not the hours they have to.
Most ADIs are self-employed — it's how the flexibility works. We help you set up properly: registration, basic accounting, pupil acquisition and ongoing business guidance. Plenty of our instructors had no business background at all before they trained.
It's a real career and it takes real effort. You'll need to qualify, take pupils and put the hours in, and nobody can do that part for you. What we can do is make sure you never have to do it on your own.
Come and see it for yourself.
Drop us your details and we'll come back within one working day. We'll also invite you to sit in on one of our weekly Zoom sessions as a guest — meet the mentors, meet the instructors, ask anything, and make your mind up with actual evidence.
